Communication and Social Skills

EQ-Smart Kids

A recent study from 2015 suggests that children's social skills—and not other possible predictors, such as aggression—in kindergarten are a good predictor of their success at age 25 years.

Early pro-social skills in kindergarten were associated with an increased likelihood of graduating from college and having a stable job, compared with having less-developed social skills.

Our EQ-smart kids use evidence based strategies to foster great social awareness and social skills.

Candidates have to be screened before joining our small groups.  They can work as dyad, or in groups of up to 5, depending on our therapist’s recommendations.

Purpose:

  • Fostering emotional intelligence (EQ) through building awareness of self and others

  • Increase self-esteem

  • Increase ability to consider perspective of others

  • Reduce egocentricity

EQ-Smart Teens

For teenagers, we also offer an age-appropriate variant of our popular EQ-Smart Kids Programme. The social and emotional challenges facing adolescents are many and complex. EQ-Smart Teens helps older children and young adults to navigate the often confusing world of social skill and communication.

Purpose:

  • Fostering emotional intelligence (EQ) through building awareness of self and others

  • Increase self-esteem

  • Increase ability to consider perspective of others

  • Reduce egocentricity
